How the contest works

Each finished game in Flags mode adds points to all nine flags on its board. A flag earns points for every correct move made with its digit and loses points for mistakes, and the completion bonus is split equally between the nine. The Rules page has the scoring in full.

At the end of each month the standings close, and the flag with the most points wins the month.

Which games count

  • You are signed in and have confirmed your email address.
  • The game is solved in Flags mode. A game played mostly in the digit view counts as Classic.
  • It stays within 3 mistakes and 3 hints.
  • It passes the fair-play check. Suspicious results are held back until someone reviews them.

Who receives the prize

The prize goes to players who play for the winning flag, that is, the country you chose in your profile. It does not matter which flags happened to be on your own boards.

When a month closes, one player is drawn at random from those who finished at least 5 counting games that month for the winning flag, have a confirmed email and have not been banned. The winner gets one month of Premium. A fair-play violation rules you out.

Medals

Alongside the monthly contest there is a personal ladder of 18 medals, earned by reaching the monthly point target month after month. See how it works on the Player status page.
