Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 September 2026.
These terms govern your use of sudokuflags.com and everything on it: the games, rankings, player status, printable puzzles, accounts and Premium (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Who we are
The Service is operated by SIA STRAUME AG ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the feedback form or by email at sudokuflags@gmail.com. These terms work together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the game rules.
What the Service is
Sudoku Flags is a browser-based Sudoku game with three modes (Flags, Classic and Killer), a monthly ranking of flags, a player leaderboard with status tiers, and printable puzzles. You can play without an account. Some features, such as saving results, appearing in rankings and Premium, need one. We keep improving the Service, so we may add, change or remove features.
Who can use it
The Service is intended for people aged 16 and over. Prizes have their own, stricter conditions (see "Rankings and prizes" below).
Your account
- Give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date. You need to confirm your email address.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at once if you think someone else has got in.
- One person, one account. Extra accounts made to influence rankings are not allowed.
- The country you register under is the flag you play for. You can ask to change it at any time, and the change takes effect at 06:00 UTC on the first day of the next month.
- Your nickname is shown publicly on the player leaderboard. It must be unique, 3 to 20 characters long, and may contain letters, digits, underscores and hyphens. Do not use a name that impersonates someone, promotes hatred or is otherwise offensive. We may change or remove a nickname that breaks these terms.
Fair play
Rankings only mean something if everyone plays fair. You must not:
- use bots, scripts, solvers or other automation to play or to submit results;
- tamper with requests, the game's code or stored data, or exploit a bug to earn points;
- create several accounts, or work with others, to move rankings artificially.
Scores are calculated on our servers from the moves you make, not taken from your device. If a result looks suspicious we may hold it for review, remove points, reset a status, exclude you from a ranking or prize, or suspend or close your account. We may also correct scoring errors and change how points and status are calculated. The current rules are on the Rules page.
Free plan and Premium
The Free plan is supported by short ad breaks, for example before a new game or before a hint beyond the free ones. Premium removes those breaks. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the subscription page in your profile. Prices can change, but a change applies from the next period, not to one you have already paid for.
Paid subscriptions are not open yet. When they open, the billing details (price, currency, renewal date) will be shown before you pay. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. If you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for and then move to the Free plan. Nothing in this section limits a right to withdraw or to a refund that the law of your country gives you. Premium can also be given as a prize, in which case no payment is taken and it ends on its expiry date.
Rankings and prizes
Points, statuses, medals and rankings are for fun and have no cash value. We may change targets, tiers and point values, and we may reset a season or a ranking if something went wrong.
From time to time we may offer prizes, such as Premium access for players of the winning flag. The conditions are published before each prize season and can include verified contact details, a minimum amount of activity and a minimum age of 18. A fair-play violation can disqualify you from a prize.
What you send us
You are responsible for what you enter on the Service, including your nickname, profile details and messages sent through the feedback form. Do not send anything unlawful, misleading or harmful. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the Service without owing you anything for it. How we handle personal data in these messages is described in the Privacy Policy.
Using the Service
We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes. Please do not:
- overload, probe or attack the Service, or get around its limits;
- copy, scrape or resell the Service or its content in bulk;
- reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service to break the law or other people's rights.
Printable puzzles may be printed for personal, family, classroom or other non-commercial use. Do not sell them or republish them as a collection.
Our content
The Service, its software, design, puzzles, medal artwork, texts and brand belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. Using the Service does not transfer any ownership to you.
Other companies
Some features rely on other providers, for example for hosting, sign-in, email delivery and, where enabled, advertising and tag management. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Links to other websites are there for convenience; they do not mean we endorse those sites or are responsible for them.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may pause or change it, for example for maintenance.
Warranties and liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost points. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account through the feedback form. We may suspend or close your access if you break these terms or the law, or if we have to stop offering the Service. When an account is closed, its points, status and any unused prize may be lost, except where the law says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we will announce it on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Latvia. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and the right to bring a claim in its courts. In other cases, disputes go to the courts of Latvia. We would rather solve problems directly, so please write to us first.
